As Los Angeles is scheduled to reopen another large sector of its businesses tomorrow, the number of coronavirus cases continued on its upward trajectory and the death toll nearly reached 5,000.

In fact, the State recorded its largest one-day increase in new cases Thursday with 3,620 new infections and 79 additional death.
